Comment from ECH: "Modified Tyer's No.6 tablets introduced by the UTA in attempt to reduce breakages when exchanging tablets mechanically at speed. This example, however, came from the Carrickfergus-Whitehead section when it was singled in the 1970s."

E. Calvert-Harrison comments: "The wooden cased "LMSNCC signal apparatus. KRA 1001" can be identified as the Greenisland receiver train describer for the Greenisland-Belfast York Road section. The instrument was distinctive in that it had three display windows on its front."

ECH comments: "LMS NCC Semaphore signal arm and light repeaters manufactured by Tyer & Co. The distant repeater on the left dates from the 1930s and has a miniature electric lamp behind a cloth spectacle for the light indication. The stop signal repeater on the left is a more recent model from 1942.

ECH comments: "LMS NCC colour light signal repeaters (Belfast, York Road). The instrument on the right is one of the original repeaters provided by Westinghouse for the 1926 resignalling, the one on the left is a UTA modification to provide two indications."

For the record, E. Calvert-Harrison comments: "I recollect the "NCC Lineside instrument. Source SRA 1298" at the bottom of JRL Currie's garden in Station Road, Larne. It is actually an Occupation Key Instrument and was part of one of three sets of three instruments that the NCC owned.... Incidently, the installation shown in the photograph never saw railway service as such, being assembled by Currie from separate cabinet, instrument and phone."

ECH comments: "NCC block telephone (Brigg's Loop) & GNRI block telephone (Antrim branch?). Both use alternating current for the ringing circuit so that they can be used on the same circuit as the block telegraph instruments."
